Motorists are facing significant delays on the M5 in Somerset this morning after a multi-vehicle crash forced the closure of two southbound lanes between Bridgwater and Taunton.

The collision was reported at approximately 8:15 a.m. on Monday, June 15, prompting a major emergency response. According to traffic monitoring services, lanes one and two of the three southbound lanes are currently closed between Junction 24 (A38 Taunton Road, Bridgwater South) and Junction 25 (A358 Taunton).

As a result of the incident, traffic queues have stretched for around three miles, with delays exceeding 45 minutes for drivers traveling through the affected area. Emergency services remain at the scene, working to manage the situation and clear the roadway as safely and quickly as possible.
